The Art of Education Virtual Conference
Last year I virtually attended the Art of Education's online conference and I was so excited to be able to watch this year's summer conference as well. With a table set up in my air conditioned living room and my Swag Box ready to go, I sat down excited to see all the wonderful lectures and lessons from my fellow art teachers and professionals around the country. (Right after I made myself a plate of homemade waffles in the waffle maker from my recent bridal shower that my fiance insisted I would never use!) I was already inspired from the get-go with the awesome presentation on Sketchnotes. I used my new Stabilo pens from my swag box to follow along with each presentation with my own Sketchnotes. It was amazing seeing all the great ideas with technology and other fun materials, the journey of a traveling art-on-a-cart teacher like myself, and of course the wonderful wisdom of Sir Ken Robinson (I could listen to him talk all day!) The Art of Education is my virtual community of art teachers and since I am the only art teacher at my school it is nice to have some insight on what other art teachers are doing and to have art-related professional development.
