Czech-Republic

For our lesson on the Czech Republic we talked about the beauty of Prague and all the medieval architecture that still exists today throughout the country. One of the more interesting stories that i shared with my older students involved the Sedlec Ossuary- more commonly known as "The Bone Church". This building is decorated with the remains of over 70,000 people-mostly victims of the Black Plague in the 14th century. Our project was a little lighter- we talked about the famous Czech Art-Nouveau artist Alphonse Mucha and we created initial bookmarks using tags, markers and transparent vellum paper for the "window".
